Meet Our Volunteers

Isabella Capozzi, a former AHS student and one of Kim’s former riding lesson students, is now helping us out at HEC. She has her own 8 yr old horse, Chancie, who she adopted and trained herself. She also has a bunny named Tweak and 2 St. Bernards, Lila Doodle and Bentley Doug. She recently became employed at VT College of Veterinary Medicine in the Large Animal Hospital and also works part time at CM Stables where she boards Chancie. We appreciate Isabella’s depth of horse experience here at HEC and her wonderful attitude when she is here helping with students!

Casey Murphey Moyer has been one of our most consistent volunteers at HEC since the program officially began in August. She is wonderful with both the horses and the students. She is part of our barn family here at Havenwood Farm and part leases Thomas, one of the horses used in the HEC program. Casey enjoys and competes in Eventing. She and Thomas have been quite successful together and have won some blue ribbons competing in the past couple of months. Outside of barn time, Casey works as a Mechanical Engineer at Intuitive Surgical in Blacksburg. She and her husband also enjoy spending time outdoors with their two black Labs. We at HEC really appreciate Casey’s support!

Ally King is another of our wonderful volunteers at HEC. Ally has worked at the barn for a few years now and is part of our barn family here. When I’m away, she also takes care of my two dogs, who love her to death. This picture is of her and one of the dogs, Samwise. Ally is a former student of Kim’s (our riding instructor) at AHS. She loves animals of all kinds and also loves children. Ally has owned and worked with horses much of her life. Her current horse, Misty, is boarded at Havenwood. She also has a pig, Queenie, and 4 rats. In addition to working at the barn, she works part time at Aly’s restaurant. We are so grateful to have her help taking care of the horses on the farm and with our students at HEC!
